Namun pada tahun 2012, ancaman mulai bergeser ke arah platform mobile, khususnya Android. Sistem operasi besutan Google itu terbilang telah menorehkan pertumbuhan yang pesat selama 2011. Dengan pangsa pasar naik dari 25% di 2010 menjadi 56% saat ini.
Dengan angka pertumbuhan dari contoh-contoh malware yang baru saat ini, Genes memprediksi akan melihat lebih dari 100 ribu trojan yang jahat muncul di Android hingga Desember 2012 apabila angka pertumbuhan tersebut terus melaju.
Kekhawatiran lain adalah proliferasi dari APT atau advanced persistent threats, yang diprediksi Genes akan lebih terfokus dan akan mengancam UKM secara meningkat.
